Tennis Serves Community
Posted on 10/30/2024
The girls varsity tennis team is ending the season strong! This past week they completed two service projects:
They collected food, delivered, and organized the pantry at Trident AAA (Area Agency on Aging). This food will serve seniors in need here in the Lowcountry. The team also put on a bake sale to raise funds for No Kid Hungry this past Saturday morning at Brown Fox Coffee. We raised $704. That is matched by William Sonoma for a total of 1,408 or 14,080 meals for Lowcountry kids in need!!!!
The girls also had two matches last week. They traveled to Kiawah and defeated First Baptist 9-0 on Monday. They lost to a very tough Ashley Hall team on Wednesday. The current season record is 7 wins- 3 losses. The team will travel to Porter- Gaud on Tuesday afternoon for their last match of the season.
As we have been serving our community, we also have been physically working on our serves. Every member of the PCA tennis team is now in the ACE CLUB. Each one of them earned this honor by playing a full match without double faulting. Congrats girls!
The team is truly living up to our LOVE ALL, SERVE ALL motto. Keep shining for the Lord in all you do girls!

Our Fighting Eagles are now 6-1 for the season after two conference wins last week!! The Eagles hosted First Baptist on Monday, 9/9. After some hard fought matches the girls came out with a clean sweep, 9-0 over First Baptist. Sophia Ralph battled back from a 1-5 deficit to pull out a 6-3, 7-5 win in her singles match. This team fights with heart and never gives up!!
On Wednesday, 9/11, we traveled to Summerville to play the Pinewood Panthers. With focus, footwork, and fun the Eagles pulled out a 7-2 victory over the Panthers.
This week the Lady Eagles will host Porter Gaud on Monday, 9/16. Match play to begin at 3pm at Mount Pleasant Rec. Please stop by afterschool to watch some amazing tennis.
Let all that you do be done in LOVE.

Our PCA girl’s varsity tennis team is now 4-1 for the season after a tough loss to Ashely Hall last week. But there is a lot of truth to the saying: you learn more from a loss than a win. Playing such a strong team only makes us stronger and more motivated to practice hard and become better.
The Eagles take on First Baptist today, September 9, at Mount Pleasant Rec. off Whipple Road. Match play to begin at 3 pm. Then we travel to Summerville on Wednesday September 11, to play the Pinewood Panthers.
The joy of the Lord is our strength as we continue to LOVE AND SERVE the Lord in all that we do.
LETS GO EAGLES!! Keep up your hard work!

The 2024 varsity girls tennis team boasts 15 exceptional tennis players and young ladies! The team practiced together throughout the summer and are ready for an exciting season of tennis in our new conference.
The theme of this season is LOVE ALL, SERVE ALL. We will focus on being filled with God’s love and sharing his love: with teammates, opponents, teachers, family….ALL! Every tennis game begins with “LOVE ALL”. We will also physically work on serves, you cannot win a point if you cannot get your serve in. We will focus on serving others in big and small ways throughout the season.
The team is off to an amazing start! Our first match was last Monday, August 12th against Colleton Prep with a 9-0 sweep: 6 singles wins and 3 doubles wins.
We had our first conference win at home against Pinewood Prep on Wednesday, August 21st with a score of 8-1.
This week the team will be traveling to Colleton Prep on Monday and to Phillip Simmons on Thursday.
LETS GO EAGLES!! Keep up your hard work!
