Varsity Girls Tennis Team Secures Two More Wins

Updated on 09/14/2023 | Pam Craft

"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:31

The Lady Eagles have a very full and challenging schedule this season. We are thankful that we can call upon the Lord to renew our strength daily, hourly, point to point!

After winning the US Open on Saturday, Coco Gauff said it best, “I do not ask God for certain results, I just thank Him for my strength.” Thank you Lord for filling us with your strong foundation of love and renewing our strength!

The team continues to play with grace, love and strength daily. PCA defeated Lucy Beckham’s JV team last Tuesday with a score of 7-2. They went onto defeat Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach on Thursday with a score of 6-3. Amazing teamwork and strength by all! Overall season record is 4-1.

I would like to highlight the mental and physical strength of Sophia Ralph this week, playing number 2 singles against Christian Academy, she lost the first set 3-6, she never lost hope, she went onto win the second set in a tiebreaker, and took the match in a third set tiebreak. Impressive win Sophia!

The team is on the road this week with our first conference match against Thomas Sumter on Tuesday, September 12 and away at Pinewood on Thursday, September 14. Please continue to lift these girls up in prayer that our team will shine for the Lord wherever we go!

Varsity Girls Tennis Team Strong On And Off The Court

Updated on 09/14/2023 | Pam Craft

Tennis LOVE. With our strong foundation of love and dedication, nothing can stop these lady Eagles! We hosted two home matches this past week. The Eagles battled but fell short to a well trained Heathwood Hall team last Monday. On Wednesday, the girls defeated Colleton Prep with an overall score of 7-2. This is a team we narrowly lost to last year. This years match-up came down to our strong doubles teams and some very exciting tie breakers!

After a long week of school and tennis, all 14 players showed up to work hard at our optional Friday practice. Now that is what this coach calls love and dedication!!!!

With 2 wins and one loss so far this season, we all agree, winning is more fun but it is losses that will grow us and make us stronger! The Lady Eagles will be on the road this week. Tuesday, August 29, we'll play our first conference match against Orangeburg Prep. Thursday, August 31, we will travel to Walterboro to play Colleton Prep on their home courts.

Keep shining and fighting Eagles!

Varsity Tennis Team Demonstrating Love & Dedication

Updated on 09/14/2023 | Pam Craft

"As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples." John 13:34

Every game in tennis begins at “Love All.” Therefore, LOVE is the theme and foundation of our Varsity Girls Tennis team. We aim to honor God in all we do by showing LOVE to ALL: our teammates, our opponents, our teachers, our parents, our classmates… AND to ourselves. We must remember that God’s love for us never fails and He will continue to fill us with His love whenever we ask. Whether we win or lose on the court, our opponents, fans and players should walk away feeling God’s love and presence.

I am very excited to announce that we have 15 awesome girls and amazing tennis players on our varsity team this year. They have been working extremely hard! They have been practicing 3-4 days a week and playing multiple challenge matches against teammates in a battle for the top positions. This team is bound for a great season ahead!

Our first match is quickly approaching on Tuesday, August 15, away against Charleston Collegiate. Please come out and support these lady Eagles when you can.

Varsity Girls Tennis Team Gets A "Double Win

Updated on 09/14/2023 | Pam Craft

The PCA Girls Tennis team won their first match against Charleston Collegiate on Tuesday, August 15. The girls not only won the match with an overall score of 8-1, they also won the hearts of the other team. At least 10 people, opponents and fans, approached me during and after the match to tell me what a nice group of girls we have and strong tennis players. We call that a double win!!!

Please come out and support our girls this week! We have two home matches at Mount Pleasant Recreation, off Whipple Road.

  • Monday, August 21 at 3:30 pm against Heathwood Hall
  • Wednesday, August 23 at 3:30 pm against Colleton Prep
